a real beauty. My grandfather, Lester Maki, served on the Laws in WWII. He was a gunners mate. Id like to think maybe he was on her when some of these pics were taken. He passed away in 1993. To all his shipmates: Thank you for everything.

Thanks for your comments. It's remarkable that sons & grandsons of crew members have shown real interest in their fathers service aboard the Laws. What a wonderful thing that is!!!

I live in Zephyrhills Florida and we were eating at Gold Corral and I noticed an elderly gentleman wearing a ballcap with this USS Laws on it. So as you can see I looked it up. These men and women of this time were real heroes with a capital H. Bybthe way before we left I approsched their table and said thanks for your service. I am 61 and served 2 years in the US Army. Thanks toall of you who served in all wars.

My, grandfather also served on the laws during the Korean war. His name was Jimmie Carmack he always told me stories of the ship.
